Proverbs 3: 6 In all ways acknowledge him, and He shall direct your path”
Proverbs 3: 7 & 8 “Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones”
In what ways are we acknowledging God? How much time do we spend with Him each day? Often times, when we go through our battles in life, we think we are alone. When I was in a relationship battling with lust demons, I thought I could block those lustful thoughts and feelings away. I spoke out loud to myself about fighting temptation (Self-motivation), “You can do this.” “You are better than that” “Stay away from that.” I never really leaned on and actually acknowledged God to fight my inner battle with lust. I felt embarrassed about my thoughts and didn’t want to bother God with them. Other people were going through much greater pain, and this is what I was worried about? It consumed my mind every day, as the lustful thoughts grew stronger and stronger for me to fight. Not only did I not acknowledge God in the midst of the fight, I thought I could win on my own. As women, we often feel like we are in charge; we have to take on the universe; we have to fix “It”. Because I was fighting this battle in my mind independently, I was defeated miserably. God is waiting for you to just look to Him about anything and everything you are struggling with. Even if you think you are “pushing through” and “managing,” you’re not. Believe me.
